Dr Mariam Walker MBBS, DRCOG, DFSRH

Dr Mariam Walker is an experienced GP with advanced specialist training in menopause care and women’s hormonal health. She holds the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care from the British Menopause Society (BMS) and leads weekly NHS menopause clinics, supporting women with diverse needs and complex medical histories.

Dr Walker is passionate about helping women understand the changes that occur during the menopause transition and supporting them to find the right approach for their individual circumstances. She works collaboratively with women to develop personalised treatment plans that reflect their symptoms, medical history, and long-term health goals. She provides a safe, welcoming environment where concerns can be discussed openly and care tailored to individual needs.

Understanding that every woman’s experience of menopause is unique, Dr Walker has also completed specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Menopause training. This additional expertise allows her to offer compassionate, evidence-based support for both the physical symptoms and emotional challenges that can arise during the menopause transition.

Dr Jane Allan MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Jane Allan is an experienced NHS GP and menopause specialist, and one of the three co-founders of The Menopause Partnership. She is deeply committed to improving the standard and accessibility of menopause care for women.

Throughout her career, Dr Allan has seen too many women feel unheard, dismissed, or left without access to specialist support. She believes her role is not simply to prescribe treatment, but to facilitate each woman’s individual journey — providing clear, evidence-based information and discussing options openly and collaboratively.

Originally from South Manchester, Dr Allan moved to Newcastle in 2000 to study medicine and has proudly called the North East home ever since. Alongside her clinical work, she is passionate about education. She trains medical students and supports doctors in becoming GPs, helping to raise standards of women’s health care more widely.

Her approach is both holistic and evidence-based. Dr Allan is trained in medical acupuncture and is completing further training in CBT for menopause, enabling her to support women with a broad and integrated skill set where appropriate.

Beyond the clinic, she is committed to widening access to reliable menopause information and regularly shares educational content on social media to help women better understand their options and feel empowered in their care.
