Dr Jane Allan MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Jane Allan is an experienced NHS GP and menopause specialist, and one of the three co-founders of The Menopause Partnership. She is deeply committed to improving the standard and accessibility of menopause care for women.

Throughout her career, Dr Allan has seen too many women feel unheard, dismissed, or left without access to specialist support. She believes her role is not simply to prescribe treatment, but to facilitate each woman’s individual journey — providing clear, evidence-based information and discussing options openly and collaboratively.

Originally from South Manchester, Dr Allan moved to Newcastle in 2000 to study medicine and has proudly called the North East home ever since. Alongside her clinical work, she is passionate about education. She trains medical students and supports doctors in becoming GPs, helping to raise standards of women’s health care more widely.

Her approach is both holistic and evidence-based. Dr Allan is trained in medical acupuncture and is completing further training in CBT for menopause, enabling her to support women with a broad and integrated skill set where appropriate.

Beyond the clinic, she is committed to widening access to reliable menopause information and regularly shares educational content on social media to help women better understand their options and feel empowered in their care.
